Serenity Homestay

Serenity was our favorite accommodation in Sri Lanka. The couple who run the guesthouse are incredibly friendly and always made sure we were enjoying our stay. The room was spotless, very comfortable, and came with an excellent breakfast. The house is about a 10–15 minute walk from the main part of town, yet it feels wonderfully peaceful, surrounded by nature. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and tranquil stay in Ella. On top of that, the husband is a tuk-tuk driver and was always available whenever we needed a ride, which was especially convenient at night when we didn’t feel like walking back.

Ruim, schoon, heerlijk eten en ontzettend aardig gezin die alles runt. Perfecte uitvalsbasis voor een bezoek aan Horton Plains of als je hier net vandaan komt.

Alojamiento muy agradable, un poquito alejado de todo. teníamos que irnos a las 6:00 de la mañana y los chicos del Hotel nos prepararon el desayuno a las cinco. muy recomendable

Wir hatten eine schöne Zeit in dieser Unterkunft. Super feines Essen! Wer die Ruhe schätzt (als Ausgleich zur quirligen Touristenmeile in Ella) ist in dieser Unterkunft am richtigen Ort. Nette Familie!

Cadre idyllique et des hôtes très bienveillants et attentionnés. Un lieu en pleine nature et très proche du centre d’Ella avec un accès à la ville par la voie ferrée ! Une très belle expérience

The room was clean snd comfortable with nice seating in front of the door with view to mountain. We very a bit surprise with the location, but you need to count with that it is in the mountain so you need to climb few hills to get there on foot. But we didn’t mind. Otherwise the owners offer you tuk tuk ride anytime they see you. We felt really good in their company they are very friendly people. The homestay offers washing laundry which we used and the washing was good, the price was reasonable. There is breakfast included, it is served on terrace and since we stayed two nights we experience same breakfast both days, which is ok because they were tasty.

The water pressure was weak, if woman needs to wash hair it may take longer time. Water wasn’t hot, more cold which was managable on warmer days.

The place is very clean and spacious. After several places this one comforted us. They have their own tuktuk and the owner was very helpful. We asked them if they could not make us any coconut for breakfast and they changed it without any problem and in fact gave us the choice.

Walking from the centre is an uphill and downhill ride.
