Maison D'hôtes Dar Afra

Clean, great breakfast, the owner is very friendly and welcoming, gave us tips on our route to the next destination, out of the 6 hotels we have visited so far, this one was definitely the best

From the moment we stepped through the door, Abdullah was exceptionally kind and welcoming, and we were truly spoiled for the time we were there. We initially booked two nights and quickly switched up to four nights. Breakfasts and dinners were delicious and more than we could eat, with something different every day. Abdullah gave us information about sites to visit and welcomed us back each afternoon with tea and snacks on the patio. The rooms were large, beds and pillows were comfy, loads of hot water, and there were built-in shelves and lots of pegs to hang our clothes. The nights were cold, but we had a fire in the dining room every night, and big heavy blankets on the beds. We felt sad having to leave this lovely property and the warmth and humour of our host.

Amazing food, views and host. Delicious breakfast and tasty dinner. The best tagine in all Maroco. Good starting point for trekking in Atlas.

Dinner was delicious with a very tasty soup followed by an excellent chicken tajine and then fruit. Abdullah was extremely hospitable and could not have been more helpful. The breakfast with hot porridge, fruit, toast, eggs, fresh orange juice. The bedrooms with bathrooms were simple but very clean, the linen and beds were very comfortable. Great hot water in the showers.

We were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality - our 3 nights at Dar Afra were a highlight of our stay in Morocco. This is a traditional-style house in a stunning location, and Abdullah and Abdul went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The food was delicious (and plentiful!). Abdullah made sure we had everything we needed and arranged our onward travel. Abdul took us out for really enjoyable and interesting day walks (with his family donkey).

We loved everything about our stay at the Maison D’hôtes Dar Afra. The place is perfectly located in the valley next to apple tree plantations and offers endless opportunities for day hikes. The food, scenery and hospitality were amazing - to the point where we ended up staying much longer than originally planned. Abdullah was the perfect host and guide, and introduced us to the culture and language of the Berber people. We hope to be back one day. ❤️
