Kasbah Azalay Merzouga

Fantastische locatie met uitzicht op de woestijn.Een heerlijk zwembad en lekker eten. Uitstekende plek met heel goede gsstheer voor wie de woestijn wil zien.

Super endroit ! Magique avec vue sur les dunes !

El alojamiento es precioso con una ubicación excelente, justo delante de las dunas. La piscina es perfecta para sobrellevar las altas temperaturas. El trato del personal es inmejorable, amable, atento. Las actividades que ofrecen son experiencias únicas. Sin duda, volvería a alojarme en la Kasbah Azalay. Recomendable 100%.

We arrived quite late on the first night and the staff stayed up to greet us with mint tea and made us dinner. The next day we went on a private jeep tour through the dunes that was brilliant with the owner’s brother. The pool was then a lovely break from the hot temperatures. Later in the day, we went out on an ATV, again organised by the accommodation. We had breakfast, lunch, and dinner served to us at our leisure and all food was probably the best we have had in Morocco. Very authentic and traditional experience of Merzouga. Bring cash as there is no card here!

Just to be aware - this place is on the edge of the dunes and so it’s off track so try not to arrive in the night as it can be hard to find! If you have any issues, the owner is there to help at all times :)

We werden erg gastvrij ontvangen met thee en pinda's. De kamer was ruim en we hadden uitzicht op de woestijn. Het zwembad was heerlijk en er waren gezellige hoekjes om te relaxen. Diner en lunch waren goed verzorgd.

De accommodatie ligt vrij afgelegen. De airconditioning hing recht boven ons bed. Dit was niet fijn. Het ontbijt was een buffet. Helaas genoten de vliegen ook van alle lekkere broodjes, jam, honing en andere lekkernijen.

Nice views through the stay, very welcoming and helpful hosts

We've been travelling through Morocco for over two weeks, and this was the only place where we encountered staff who were noticeably rude and pushy. The stay itself was okay — the views are nice, although the pool could have been cleaner. Breakfast was below average; we've had much better at more affordable accommodations. When you arrive you get a welcome tea but in reality it’s for selling you tours. We told him we already had a tour booked that we liked but he insisted we should cancel it multiple times. We friendly declined. Then kept pushing about other activities we were not interested about. Later he showed us around the hotel and he talked about the dinner that was in the hotel available. We didn’t agree to anything. It was just a tour of the hotel. We had a long drive, wanted to buy some water in a supermarket and ended up eating out in the village. That evening, he was very rude to me. I had to explain myself multiple times why we didn’t eat in the hotel restaurant. I was surprised that a staff member gave me a lecture for not dining at the hotel. It seemed a bit out of place and made me feel uncomfortable. Afterwards, we no longer felt welcome. It seemed like their main concern was getting more money from us, even though we're already paying quite a lot just to stay here. When we checked out, another staff member told us that everything was fine. However, we later found out that we hadn’t actually paid yet — even though Booking.com had our credit card details, the hotel still required payment in cash. Because of that, we had to return to settle the payment in cash, which fortunately went smoothly. That said, the communication around this could definitely be improved.

Zwembad is ideaal! Personeel is vriendelijk, goed ontbijt.
