B&B Villa Anna, Venlo

Historical mansion with a lot of authentic elements - really good if you will actually spend the time inside. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast is served , you can chose what you want to eat at arrival. Nice location with a lot of beatify villas - we had a nice view on one of them. Right next to a small park and walking distance from the city center. The building is very well maintained - there is no sign of rotten tree or smell. Very clean.

It seems like the pool was under algae attack (green water) and they couldn’t fix it before we left. Quite disappointing, since the pool was the reason we chose this place. It’s an old building, so you can hear the neighbors shutting the doors. There was no cable TV and no streaming service - the tv booth in the room and at the lobby only had 3 Dutch channels. They have a dvd player in the reception, but no DVDs to play. Due to schedule mismatch, unfortunately we couldn’t taste the dinner cooked by the host. So could be a good idea to plan ahead. The room itself is just a place to sleep (very small and basic), compared to the rest of the mansion. The bathroom of room 4 has a separate entrance from the room itself, so you have to leave the room into the hallway to enter the bathroom ( but the bathroom itself is very spacious).

Location good.

Room number 1 was 49 stair steps from ground floor, had no fire safety information or practical escape. Bath room had a venetion blind for a door paper cups to make hot drinks had to ask for tea bags and milk. Breakfast eggs burnt
