Hotel Garni Vanadis

Vanadis is a family run B&B that is warm and homely. The rooms were very comfortable, and in the winter cold, the rooms were very comfortable (not too cold or warm). The hosts were friendly, and provided the necessary information readily for our time there. We got there earlier, and probably because its the off peak seaaon, they were kind enough to allow us to check in earlier. Breakfast was generous, sumptous and they could even remember our drinks order from the previous breakfast. We totally enjoyed our time there. One important thing is that they are just beside the bus station, so if you are coming by bus, this is a good place to stay without having to walk too far with your luggage.

My stay at Hotel Garni Vanadis was exceptional. It’s a quaint hotel with gorgeous mountain views and a short walk from down town Ortisei. Our room had a balcony overlooking a river which was great to block out any outside noise. Our hosts were incredible. They made us feel at home and gave us great advice on hiking trails and options. The included breakfast was also great - with a huge spread of fresh foods, cakes/breads that the hosts baked, and freshly squeezed fruit juices. They even happily made us a cappuccino every morning. They also offered us free guest passes for the bus system so we could travel all over Val Gardena and to Bolzano as much as we wanted for free for the duration of our stay. This was super useful for us to have access to the hiking trails and get us to-and-from the trains in Bolzano. A 10/10 stay (we didn’t want to leave) and I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to go to the Dolomites!

Everything about the property was likable.

Great place to stay to get to all the popular hikes in the area. The staff was very helpful, the rooms were fine and the breakfast good😊 Approximately a 10 min walk from the centre.

As there is no air condition, you need to sleep with the door open which is a bit noisy due to the river. (Would also love a fridge so one could store some cold drinks and keep everything from melting.)
