Nice please to stay, about 2 minutes from the beach. comfortably rooms with really big bathrooms, kitchen in zero floor.

Neil is really a great host. he helped with everything needed: transfer from the airport, SIM cards, laundry. we once ordered a local dinner with shrimps and fish, he and his wife made really tasty meal for us. highly recommended! the villa’s location is great too, it just takes 3 mins to walk to the ocean, and the beach is superb. the rooms are good too with very good bed and window view

if you want to clean the room, you have to ask for it (to change towels and all this stuff). water in the bathroom didn’t go away itself, so in the morning it stank

Neil was so welcoming from the moment we arrived! Great room very spacious and clean, great air con and fan, delicious breakfast. Thank you Neil for an amazing stay and helping us with SIM cards and with the bus to our next stop!

The owner seems nice at first glance, but constantly made me and my girlfriend feel uncomfortable. Room had no soap, toilet paper and hand towels. Cleaning is not offered, you have to ask for it. After cleaning they gave us dirty bedsheets and dirty towels. The breakfast was the worst out of 7 different stays in Sri-Lanka. You will have one egg and two toasts with option to add butter. Sometimes they will give you banana and some cheap sweet bread. The breakfast time is inconsistent, you can look for a staff for hours, on one day we simply couldn’t find anyone and had to find different place to eat. The villa is infested with mosquitoes, ants and spiders Our room had spider nest in the bathroom. Outside there was always crazy amount of hungry mosquitoes.

Great location very close to the beach, shops and restaurants in Hikkaduwa. The rooms and bathroom were large and airy with good air conditioning and fan. Comfortable beds. We had the whole top floor of the Villa which had fantastic views and space to sit on the terrace, Delicious breakfast always freshly cooked each morning with herbs picked from the garden. Beautiful garden. The host, Neil, collected us from the airport on time and his family were waiting to greet us with tea and cake when we arrived and beautiful flowers as a welcoming gift. Neil is very friendly and accommodating. He speaks very good English and is always on hand to help if you need assistance. Nothing is ever too much trouble and he assisted us with our scooters and Sir Lankan SIM cards when we encountered problems.

Unfortunately we had no hot water during our 16 night stay despite notifying Neil of the problem. He advised that the water is heated by solar panel but the temperature outside was over 30 every day and still cold/tepid water. A boiler upgrade is definitely needed. We had no toilet roll when we arrived and when mentioned to Neil I was handed one. We ended up buying our own for the duration of the holiday. You have to request clean towels and bedding as they are only changed once a week if not. Once requested Neil kindly obliged so was not an issue if you made him aware. The rooms are swept a couple of times a week but the bathroom was not cleaned at all during our stay! WIFI is very intermittent and you could not rely on it. It only worked well if you were sitting in the dining area of the garden and next to the router. Neil had to keep resetting it. A few minor adjustments, i.e. addressing the hot water and WIFI issues, ensuring toilet rolls are available in the room, cleaning the rooms on a more frequent basis and changing towels and bedding regularly could make this one of the best Villas in Hikkaduwa as it has many positive aspects.
