Guest House Sabores da Beira

It was peaceful and quiet both inside and outside, up on a hill with a nice view from room’s balcony; free parking. Breakfast was included - coffee, toast with jam, cheese and ham and juice. Staff were pleasant and helpful with special requests. Comfortable bed, table with two chairs, a small fridge and closet, and a few English channels on TV. The price was economical and the location very conveniently located close to the border to Spain off the main road, A-49.

The bathroom was functional and clean, but the toilet seat was old with a hole in it and the shower wasn’t built correctly; it drained somewhat slowly and had been poorly repaired.

We were looking for somewhere close to the motorway, where we could stay the night to break a long journey. It was ideal for our purpose. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was quite basic but had everything one needed. We ate in their restaurant, which was tasty and good value

The facilities were pretty basic and a little shabby, though the price reflected this and was great value. With a little effort and some better quality furnishings, it could be very good.

Very good place, especially for the price, brilliant and very generous breakfast, very nice beds, everything is sparkling clean!

Absolutely nothing

It's OK for stay overnight close to the beach. WIFI stable and water pressure shower good. TV with international channels. Air-conditioning and a fridge on the room. Great restaurant.

The rooms need to be refurbished, old tiles, small shower.

We spent 10 nights in Sabores da Beira Guest House, a family run business in a quiet location in Monte Francisco, just outside Castro Marim. The rooms are comfortable and very clean, our room had a good veranda with a view towards the hills and Monte Francisco. The guest house is located near a main road but it was very quiet, even with the door open at night. Breakfast was simple but complete, the coffee and bread were excellent and we loved the home made goats cheese, made by our host Teresa. From here we travelled by car and had access to a huge variety of activities, the beaches, the mountains, the river, the interior, towns and pre organised tours, walking trails and boat trips to Spain. In the small hamlet of Monte Francisco there are at least 4 good restaurants, including Sabores da Beira, with excellent food and wine and a variety of traditional portuguese dishes. There are many choices for other types of culinary in Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo Antonio and other areas. We really enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in a quiet location and an authentic experience of the Algarve.

Location was out in the country a little way, quiet location. Our room was a cute upstairs room with a fridge, clean and updated. Best thing is that it had blackout roll down shades. It had a HUGE balcony with a table/4 chair overlooking rolling hills. The Wifi was terrible - couldn't keep a connection. The staff were really friendly. Had some super refreshing/cold beers at the bar and watched a little news on the tv there.

The Wifi was terrible - couldn't keep a connection. There was a sewer ish smell in the bathroom which we mostly remedied by keeping the sink drain sealed. The mattress - we felt all the springs, not great sleep. Breakfast was a very basic coffee, juice, bread, meat cheese selection.

Very confy bed. It was in a good vicinity for our requirments. We only had one night there. The continental breakfast was generous, with extra coffee on request. The place was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, even with the language barrier. Lovely hot water in the shower.

If one was staying longer, there was no where to hang out. Although there did seem to be a restuarant downstairs, it seemed closed when we needed to eat, but maybe they open later and we had an early night. The bathroom was more than adequate for us, lovely hot water, but for anyone large they might battle. It is quite narrow. This is not necessarily a negative though. All was great.

The dinner they served and generally nice place.

A lot of stairs to get to the room and a little hard to find.
