La Belle Heure B&B - formerly Huis van Steen -

The property is located within easy walking distance from the Batavia Werf Museum and Bataviastad outlet mall -- we arrived by taxi from the train station, but a bus connection was also possible. Huis van Steen is next to a park in a very quiet neighborhood. There was a refrigerator-freezer and coffee and tea making supplies in the room. We were in a "family room", with a second bedroom with 2 twin beds, connected by way of the bathroom, which gave us a bit more space.

The bedroom itself was quite small, with a standard size double bed.

I loved the host. She was so friendly and hospitable. Our requirements were met. She would go the extra mile yo make you comfortable and to feel at home.

Friendly reception we only stayed for one night to shop at Batavia. We could walk and that was great.

The shower and the toilet weren't properly cleaned( The same for the surfaces There is a closed door in the room ( it looks like it was one house now divided into separate 'hotel' rooms), I assume behind the door there is a heating system or smth similar, because one evening around 23 00 some kind of alarm went on and scaried the hell out of me....(

We loved our stay at Huis van Steen, and wish it had been longer. We cycled to the house through a beautiful park, and it is situated in a lovely area. The ambience of the house and garden is very special. Peaceful yet vibrant at the same time. We very much enjoyed meeting Marion, the owner, and hearing all about the history of the B and B and Art Gallery. What a fascinating and inspiring person. We received great personal recommendations on where to eat, which we much appreciated. The room was comfortable and the shower nice and hot. Breakfast was great, and plentiful, even for four hungry cyclists, and the young lady who served us was really helpful and pleasant. Would highly recommend a stay in Huis van Steen!

Great family hosts, friendly. 10min walk to Batavia stad/haven. Quiet side road in greenbelt, just off main road

Bedrooms off shared hallway so is dependant on other guest noise.
