Kauri Glen BnB

Lovely, pretty remote rural stay among rolling hills, orchards and dramatic open space. A very zen location, esp if you've got a couple of days to wind down. Kind and engaging hosts, well appointed room.

Keep in mind that this is a pretty remote location, approx 10k from the nearest town -- that's its attraction for many, but a limitation for some. Not surprisingly, cell service (and the corresonding wifi) is spotty at best. Self-serve breakfast is convenient, but hardly lavish.

Ivy and Dave were very helpful. The location is superb up in the country overlooking beautiful farmland with birdsong. The room was clean and comfortable and well cared for.

Very comfortable bed, blackout curtains, heated bathroom floor, good hair dryer, quiet location, laundry facilities, fresh lettuce from the garden. -- Painfully slow and unreliable wifi (impossible to do any work or stream a movie); no table to eat breakfast at (I ate on the bed), the room can get very hot and stuffy on sunny days as the patio is not covered. All in all, I couldn't help but feel that the place was a bit overpriced.
