Outstanding breakfast!! Very comfortable enclosed patio/aborium. Welcoming hot tea and drinks after a very long day. Ambient music and candles. Very inviting and special. Perfect for a much needed wind-down! Excellent location. Fernglen Reserve is a “must see” within very short walking distance for perfect stroll and information on local plant habitat.

Stairs to the house were difficult with heavier baggage. Parking steep, but manageable.

Fernglen is a stunning location, with very comfortable, lovely, and quiet rooms. Vera and Klaus are such welcoming hosts, they went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed to be comfortable and to make my stay in Auckland memorable. They even helped me with transportation and logistics each day. Their beautiful home is a very special place!

Perfect breakfast every morning, really delicious. Best couple host ever! I really enjoyed my stay there. They were super nice to me and even offered me free ride several times because I was traveling alone. I got a lot of help from them. Really appreciate it and would like to recommend this place to friends. It’s near Auckland but very quiet and the sunset was amazing!

I can't rate this place highly enough! The host (I only got to meet Vera as Klaus was away) was so welcoming, warm and easy to talk with, extremely knowledgeable on many subjects and in particular NZ tourism/geography. The breakfasts were amazing and her attention to detail was superb. The house was exceptionally clean and the bed was super comfy. Everything is provided and they really have thought of every single little thing. The views from the house are stunning and the gardens are very well kept. But best of all I was able to take my 2 borrder collies with me! Vera is brilliant with doggos! I honestly cant recommend this B&B enough, it was a true home away from home!!
