Bedroom was beautifully presented with a nice view of rural countryside. Hostess prepared very nice meal for extra charge. Very clean bathroom with towels provided. Overall a great experience here.

Soap not rinsed off the dishes before serving food on them. Noise from driveway security beeping at night that was disturbing when nocturnal creatures walked in and out of the driveway area. I felt $10 for laundry charge was quite expensive. I could do it for $3-5 at the laundromat in Auckland.

The host, Claire, was nice to us. The bed was comfortable. I tried kiwi fruit jam for the first time. Claire has cute dogs. We met great travelers there (thinking of you Sam and Chris). Claire and I hugged goodbye.

I’ve thought a lot about this review and my time in Hunua and New Zealand, and I decided I have to speak up. I advise all who consider staying here to reconsider. Claire is a huge racist. Racist against Sikhs, Muslims, and Māori. She was calling a local Sikh store owner a cunt. She has a sign in the kitchen that says NO BOIL UPS because according to her the traditional Māori dish uses up all her kitchen gas and smells like dog food. She said she wouldn’t live in Canada because Canada has too many Muslims. It’s interesting because Claire is an immigrant to New Zealand, who dislikes non-white immigrants who move to New Zealand and the native peoples of the land she inhabits. This was a lesson for me to speak up rather than being complicit. I have to set my boundaries when people are saying inappropriate comments that I don’t agree with. Claire, please do better and accept that everyone struggles no matter the background or color. Otherwise, please lay it on me. I’d love to hear your retort so the noble people of Booking.com can see the negativity that you spew to the world.

Lovely welcome from Claire. Very friendly and helpful. Showed us around, everything tidy and clean. Well organised. Room was comfortable and spacious. Bed very comfortable. Bathroom lovely. Shower hot and powerful. Breakfast was good. Beautiful surroundings. Great dogs and cat. Loved it here. Would recommend...

I had a great stay at Claire's place! The room and bathroom were extremly clean, the bed was really comfortable and the room had big windows that allowed loads of natural light. Claire is very welcoming and an interesting person to have a chat with, she also has adorable dogs that love cuddles! I would definitely stay again!

Beautiful location and a great sleep and rest just before tackling the difficult Auckland traffic. Breakfast was perfect for me. I usually have a light breakfast like this one.

Probably a better explanation of the correct driveway to take, although it didn't really hold me up at all. Many people will find the 9am checkout time a bit early, but I understand there is a bit of flexibility around that.

We really enjoyed the very relaxed atmosphere and friendliness of the hosts. Our room was large and comfortable.
