Molt bona opció per Ragusa. Una habitació molt bonica i ben situada. Pots aparcar fàcilment al carrer.

Starting with positives: Giovanni and his mother Amalia are the hosts and do everything together. Giovanni is very generous and reasonable. They offered and insisted on picking me up from the train station the night I arrived after I asked about taxi arrangements. They also asked for my breakfast preferences and bought eggs specifically for me. Additionally, they were receptive to any questions I had about getting around the area. The bed was very comfortable. The space was cozy and charming with great views of Ibla. Initially, we shared some lovely conversation about my Italian Sicilian heritage and my plans to spend time with family in Ragusa.

I recently stayed 6 nights at this property, and my experience closely mirrored that of Michaela from Canada (Oct 2024). Similar to her, I encountered constant, uncomfortable interactions with the hosts—particularly Amalia—which made the stay feel less like a rental and more like living in their home under supervision. While most positive reviews appear to come from one-night stays, a longer visit reveals a much different reality. The most significant issue was the daily presence of the hosts. They dropped by without notice, often while I was resting, eating, or in pajamas—sometimes knocking until the door was answered. This unannounced intrusion felt like interrogation rather than hospitality. When I asked for advance notice of visits, Amalia reacted negatively, accusing me of being disrespectful and even threatening to report me to booking.com and have my profile flagged. There were also repeated problems with inconsistent rules. Before my trip, I disclosed that a friend might join me later. Only once we were on-site did Amalia demand an extra fee of €50 per night. While I wasn’t opposed to a fee, there was no prior mention of this during booking. She first agreed that I could pay once my guest arrived but later threatened to report me for “refusing” to pay, despite my attempts to settle appropriately. Kitchen use was another point of conflict. Although I was told it was permitted at check-in, we were reprimanded for cooking the eggs the hosts themselves had provided, and later scolded even for washing our own dishes. Such mixed messages created confusion and unnecessary confrontation. When my guest arrived, further discomfort arose: Amalia insisted on handling the futon setup despite my request to leave the bedding, and she became upset when my guest (not me) answered the door during her daily visit. She informed my friend, “This is my house, not yours,” underscoring the controlling and intrusive atmosphere. Locals I spoke with confirmed that this is not normal.

Aj keby som veľmi dlho hľadal a rozmýšľal, nič zlé by som nenašiel.

Beautiful cave style room, great location at walking distance to the center of the old town

Breakfast was mainly supermarket food rather than fresh bread/pastries

A pochi passi dal centro di Ragusa Ibla con un accoglienza da parte di Giovanni ti fa sentire benvenuto. La camera con il soffitto a volta in pietra e il bagno in grotta è a dir poco spettacolare, un restauro fatto con cuore e testa! Da provare!
