Casa Marcè a "Sonno"

Posizione ottima, a pochi km da Lucca, giardino ben tenuto e rilassante. La ns. camera aveva un arredamento molto datato. Nella struttura curerei un pò di più le finestre che non hanno zanzariere nè tende e infissi molto molto vecchi. I letti singoli piccoli, materassi da riconsiderare. La proprietaria molto molto disponibile e gentile, modesta colazione ma con prodotti genuini a km zero. Nel complesso ovviamente ci è piaciuta la struttura, con pochi accorgimenti e aggiornamenti, avrebbe un bel valore aggiunto.

Casa Marcè is a beautiful and authentic Italian experience. The owner, Alessandra, was gracious and attentive; her morning homemade breakfast was amazing (the fresh baked cake was a hit). If we ever return to the Porcari area, we would absolutely return to Casa Marcè

This charming bed and breakfast offered beautiful ambiance, and a tranquil, comfortable environment. This could only be outdone by the exquisite host Alessandra, who made our stay feel like a bit of heaven. We highly recommend this beautiful country getaway. Ivy and Matt

This property is fantastic - a real local gem. It's a beautifully restored 18th century mansion with a large garden and olive grove in the centre of town and is run more like a guesthouse than a hotel. Alessandra is a wonderful host who provided a great breakfast and fresh coffee every morning which we ate in the garden. Alessandra charges 4€ per person per day for breakfast which is great value. She also gave us tips on the local area including aces to see and eat. The room was spacious and grand with a big comfortable king bed and had a beautiful view of the valley. The bathroom was clean and had a bath and separate shower. There is on site parking and it is only a short walk (2-3 minutes) down to the centre of the town where this a cafe, pizzerias and a few shops. Not far to travel to Lucca (20 minutes), Florence (1 hour) and the beach (40 minutes) by car. We enjoyed relaxing in the garden in the sun and there is a hotel with a pool that you can pay to use less than 10 minutes drive away.

It didn't really bother us, but there is a large church with a bell tower a short distance from the property. The bells ring every hour day and night, and would occasionally wake us up in the morning. To me it felt like living part of the village life but to some it may be disturbing. By the end of the week I had become accustomed to it. Porcari is a small country town - if you want a bustling atmosphere then I would suggest looking elsewhere.
