B&B de Pottenbakkershoeve

B&B De Pottenbakkershoeve is near Meerlo, the hidden gem where time slows down, birds sing actual melodies (probably in harmony), and a nearby castle watches over the land like a benevolent grandparent. Just strolling (and running :) like me) around this picturesque village is like walking through a landscape painting. The bedroom I stayed in was royalty-level plush. I suspect even :) the Ritz hotel would take notes here. Think: enormous bed, equally enormous bathroom, and every modern convenience you didn’t know you needed until you spotted it gleaming under soft light. I wouldn’t be surprised if my room secretly hosted some design award ceremony when I wasn’t looking. And then there was breakfast ... oh, a peak of deliciousness: fresh fruits, cheeses, sliced meats, croissants, jams, butter, and everything else you’d want to power up for either a relaxing day ... or an 18-hour ultra trail run (more on that later). Speaking of Ron and Monique — what absolute legends! They met me at my perfect time (which, let’s be honest, isn’t always easy), responded to every request with a smile, and created an atmosphere that somehow struck the magical balance between warm hospitality and total privacy. I genuinely felt like I was in my own home! This kind of comfort was not just nice ... it was essential! I stayed here before and after the Petranpad Trail Run (112 km, 18 hours of fun and suffering), and the peaceful, supportive environment helped me recover both physically and mentally. Honestly, my legs and knees :) may never forgive me, but my soul thanks Ron and Monique! The wall in my Rose bedroom was covered by the famous “Give every day the chance to become the most beautiful day of your life” commonly attributed to Mark Twain, but it seems to the motto of the hosts! Ron and Monique, thank you for everything. You didn’t just host me ... you gave me a home away from home (with better breakfast - please, do not retell it to my lovely wife!). 🙏❤️

Very nice place with extremely helpful and accommodating hosts. Fantastic breakfast. Top class furnishings and spotlessly clean. Beautiful rural location.

Room was quite cold but our stay was very short: had we raised it with hosts, certain they could have remedied it.

Light, airy room with spacious bathroom attached. Excellent shared facilities to prepare your own meal including microwave, crockery, cutlery, pans, 2 pits cooker, kettle and free coffee and tea. Shared living room with TV and comfortable seating. Delicious breakfast was carefully planned taking our preferences into account. Comfortable seating in patio area outside and very friendly hosts.

Tranquil countryside setting and comfortable spacious accommodations made for a great place to unwind. Unexpected bonus - there's a fab wood-fired pizza place in the next village (walkable).

The location was very good for Pieterpad walkers. The structure is beautiful, extremely clean. Excellent breakfast and super nice and welcoming landlady.
