"The price-performance ratio is terrible. Not recommended!"

5.0

Not so much. The staff was very friendly and we were allowed to left our belongings until afternoon, when we left the town.

The price-performance ratio is terrible. The pool was unusable – very dirty and as hot as a whirlpool. It seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, and there was no fresh water circulation or working pump. The house is in a very densely built-up area with many dogs barking loudly at night. Additionally, there are a lot of mosquitoes, making it very uncomfortable everywhere (inside and outside). You are not alone in the house and have to share the kitchen and living area, which was not communicated to us upon arrival. We were shocked to return from the beach and find strangers in the house, with all our personal belongings and valuables left unattended. The kitchen was poorly equipped and dirty. There were no cooking facilities, no basic ingredients like sugar or salt. Additionally, the staff stored their food in the fridge. The beds were extremely hard, and there were no proper bed sheets – we had to sleep on the day covers. Our three-bed room was only provided with two blankets and two towels. We received additional ones only after requesting them. The WiFi did not work in our room. Our private bathroom could only be accessed through the shared living area, meaning our personal items were accessible to others.

"Spacious and bright stay five minutes from my favorite sri Lankan beach"

8.0

Emildale is a spacious and bright large house where you can have all the room, terrace, and kitchen /living room for the guests. It has plenty of space for swimming and relaxing after the beach. The room has everything you needed, hot water, air conditioning, fan. No mosquito net but there is no need with a/c. The hosts is a lady who is simple and genuine. She lives next door so she is always available if needed, but doesn't interfere with the guests in the main house. She was kind to let us checkout late.

I would advise against having breakfast included, as the choices and portions are small, and the quality not up to 1500 rupees they charge for. Unfortunately there arent many places and shops in the area, so if you need breakfast you can go to the nearby supermarket and help yourself. That's probably the best choice.

"Very poor"

2.0

The villa is quite beautiful and good place to relax.

The staff wanted to show our rooms to some other during our stay, there was no toilet paper, tissues and dustbin. Even though the check out is 12 noon the staff was pushing us to leave early. Too many flies and mosquitoes.
