Minthu Homestay

Guesthouse with a fantastic view and excellent hospitality from Mr. Minthu! The rooms are spacious yet modest, and the breakfast is a true Sri Lankan experience!

The bathrooms (at least the one in our room) could be improved, and the common terrace could be better maintained, but the price of the accommodation is unbeatable!

Die Aussicht war wunderschön. Auch der Host war super nett und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker.

Zimmer war zwar sauber aber generell etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Geckos waren ständig im Zimmer. Für das Zimmer leider etwas zu teuer.

Our stay at Minthu homestay was amazing! We were welcomed with a cup of tea and biscuits and enjoy the most beautiful view! The location is perfect, less than 10 minutes walk from town so away from the noise but easy to walk in and out. It was really peaceful and the views incredible. The breakfast was a highlight, different both mornings but great Sri Lankan style absolutely delicious! The host also helped us to arrange a tuk tuk for a good price to see the waterfalls and tea plantations, also onward travel. It really made our trip run smoothly. Definitely recommend this place to explore Ella and the surrounding areas.

Delicious breakfast. The view is breathtaking. Yes, getting there by car can be difficult, but the personal driver made it happen. Clean room, all the amenities! Wonderful staff.
