Opal Cottage Ella

The stay was rather basic and unfortunately did not fully meet my expectations. The room and facilities felt quite simple and could benefit from more attention to cleanliness and overall maintenance. There was also a noticeable humidity in the room, which made the stay a bit less comfortable. Breakfast was quite modest, but since it is only an additional service, this was not a major issue for me. The location itself was acceptable, although the access to the property requires climbing quite a lot of steep steps uphill, which may be challenging for some guests.

We had a lovely stay at this homestay. Out hosts where really friendly and served us with great breakfast every morning. It's really quiet in the forest with a great view. Comfy beds and basic interiors. We hope we come again.

It's 5mins scooter out of town. The host offers a TukTuk service so no problem!

Geräumiges, sauberes Apartment mit Kühlschrank. Kaffee und Tee und ein Föhn sind ebenfalls vorhanden. Die Terrasse ist wundervoll und das Frühstück abwechslungsreich und lecker. Die Gastgeber sind freundlich und bemüht. Uns hat die Lage zudem sehr gut gefallen. Es war ruhig und man hatte einen tollen Ausblick auf den Ella Rock. Man sollte bei der Anfahrt berücksichtigen, dass die Unterkunft oberhalb des bei Google Maps angegebenen Standortes liegt und der Zugang daher über die oberhalb und parallel verlaufende Straße erfolgt. Der Gastgeber ist hierbei aber gerne behilflich, da der Weg anfänglich recht steil erscheint.

Warme douche, goed bed, heerlijk ontbijt en uit de drukte van Ella zelf. Prima locatie als je met eigen vervoer (tuktuk) bent.

Misschien een beetje onhandig als je geen eigen vervoer hebt. Aan de ander kant is het maar een half uur lopen naar Ella en rijden er enorm veel tuktuks.

This place was 100% romantic lying on a hillside. The view was great. It is not a luxury place but there is a fridge, water boiler, hairdryer etc. Breakfast is good and the owner is friendly. He also offers tuktuk service on request. I felt it is a bit a special place because it is so hidden. We were in another place in Ella before but that one was more expensive and not so special.

Thank you for hosting us. We enjoyed our stay. You were very accommodating and provided us with advice and connections with your Tuk Tuk and a taxi.

Very clean, comfortable bed, breakfast was big and varied, owners super helpful and provided transport from train station as otherwise would be difficult to find. Would stay again

Pretty cottage on a hillside. The owner picks you up by tuktuk. Good and rich breakfast.

Nothing

Clean, spacious room that was really well equipped, including a hairdryer and fridge. Bed was comfortable and mosquito net was good. The breakfast was excellent - really delicious. Laundry was really good. Clothes smelled fresh and folded with care. The host family are sweet and helpful. I appreciated the fair value tuktuk rides to get back from Ella to the accommodation, as it was far up a hill (but I liked being away from the busy town!). You can sit and enjoy watching some wildlife from the terrace. Bee Honey Restaurant is a 15 min walk away which is a nice place to eat, with a good view and trains sometimes going by.

The room was a bit damp as the back wall is basically underground. It would benefit from some fresh paint. Whilst well-meaning, my personal space could have been respected a bit more - eg not knocking on door multiple times whilst I was showering or getting dressed. Burning of plastic
