Alegria rustica

I thoroughly enjoyed my long stay at Alegria Rustica, Anna and Mark were such lovely hosts and really made me feel welcome and ensured I was always happy and comfortable during my stay. The breakfasts were great and filling, lots of organic items like fruit and eggs included from their own garden as well. A great place to visit for some peace and quiet outside the major cities where you can really enjoy the great summer weather and explore the beautiful nature that can be found in central Portugal. There are some great hikes in the area.

Small things but because the location is quite rural there is no fibre internet in the area so the wifi provided relies on mobile data and 5G coverage is very weak and thus not always reliable, its ok for basic browsing but if you need to do work remotely that requires fast internet or video calls it can be a bit limiting. Also if you plan to do some self catering there is only a microwave and single plate stove in the kitchen and the fridge is also quite small and shared with other guests and also does not have a freezer so a bit limited for choice on what you can bring along and cook.

Ann and Mark's friendliness was exceptional. Breakfast very tasty, varied and with regional and organic ingredients. The calmness of the place, for those looking for it, is excellent.

We had a very, very hot moment, which made our stay a little more difficult. The cell phone network is difficult and, in turn, the internet too. There is no TV.
