No tea/coffee making, only cold shower, beds uncomfortable compared to other bungalows it's over priced .We booked it cos it was only one available.

If you are on a budget, want to live like local and enjoy the best of Thailand, this place is for you. The place is owned by a really nice family and it's situated near the best wild beach of Koh Muk, where they have nice beach bar. The food was so good, it topped some really expensive restaurants we've visited in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, and the familly really takes care of their guests. Don't expect much, and it will exceed your expectations by miles. Wished we stayed few days longer. Thank you for having us!

the location and the adventurous experience of staying in basic run-down wooden huts. I won't talk about the old junk on the side of the path leading up to the cabin!

the staff. Especially the guy who was sadly mostly there. I think he was only interested in getting paid rather than smiling and making sure we were having a pleasant stay. The lady was friendly but only saw her when we checked in. Plus, they could've brought new bottles of water for each night we stayed....

We booked one night in a bungalow for a good off season price and extended for a couple of days in one of the three concrete a/c rooms. What we really liked: - Location: You walk 2 mins and arrive at Charly Beach where only 2 guesthouses (not registered on booking.com now) are left. The beach has turquoise water especially after full moon. Food stands, drinks, sunbeds, parasols available. - Dinner in Mayow restaurant was good. Proper portions for a resonable price. - Fan room is ok for less heat periods. - Nu and her husband are kind people and give you water bottles every day. Nu‘s daughter in law was very sweet and happy all the time and she understood/spoke also ok English. - Breakfast included: Either fruit plate or eggs. - The style of the guesthouse reminds me of the authentic good, old island days in Thailand. - No cars on the island. - Cosy atmosphere. - Quiet almost most of the time but especially after 10.00 p.m. - Family run place. - Soap and towels available. - I think you can book ferry tickets with them too.

There is not so much we didn’t like. - I would say some of the staff needs a bit of warm up ;-) so the smile re-appears on their faces. - Water pressure needs an upgrade. - When Nu was not around breakfast times were a bit strict with the 8-10 breakfast slot although we maybe only ate 50% of the mornings. - Wifi was just enough for Whatsapp, emails and a bit of social media. - The springs of the bed were a bit harsh as only the bottom of a box spring bed was used. Once you get used to the vibe you don’t want to leave. We enjoyed it very much and look forward to coming back.

Position is great. Food and breakfast too. Nice staff.

Mosquito net is round, so it was extremely difficult to cover all the double bed in a way that allows us to sleep comfortably. It was sort of hell, trying to sleep without touching the net with feet, arms, legs (allowing mosquitos to bite through it!)...i would recommend to buy the rectangular nets !!! And mosquito net is highly needed, because there are mosquitos and cockroaches and gekos, we are in the nature!

The food was good. The owners are really helpful. The kayak on Charlie Beach is included and Charlie Beach is a 5 minute walk away

I think my bed wasn't clean, i have a feeling it was just made up and not renewed. Also the whole room looks a bit dirty. The bathroom was clean, that was really nice

Staying in the jungle was nice, sleeping to sounds of tokay geckos and waking up to incredible bird life! The place is peaceful and feels like living in nature. Right next to Charlie Beach. Good free breakfast. It seems by old reviews that Mr Mayow is a character (sadly he wasn't around much for our stay)

I'd hate to turn anyone off as imo this is one of the best options on Koh Mook and definitely worth staying in! BUT... The bungalows are ok but not great compared to a lot of other options in Thailand for the same price range. The bathroom was dirty and full of bugs (cockroaches etc). We had staff shining a torch into our cabin at night while getting something from the water pump outside, which felt a bit invasive while trying to sleep. Mr Mayow's wife was friendly and wonderful but the other staff member rude and dismissive. The restaurant is not as good as the reviews below (sadly, maybe we got a bad week!) Tbh it all seems a bit tired and run-down post-covid. Hopefully with tourism picking up this will change soon!

set in a lovely garden just a few minutes from the beach amazing beach, the family run a beach bar with great food and drinks. free sunloungers and kayaks very friendly and super helpful wish we could have stayed longer

nothing, it was perfect for us. if you stay for awhile bring snacks, you have to go back into town for shops
