柔意琉居 Zoy Liuqiu Inn

The room was really lovely; it was spotlessly clean, modern, with excellent air con and a balcony. The shower is strong and has plenty of hot water. The TV has its own Netflix account and the wi-fi is good. The location was perfect for me; it is within walking distance of the ferry a there are plenty of eating and shopping options in the surrounding streets. The area has a great atmosphere, with lots of street food stands and stalls in the evenings, and especially at weekends. It is walking distance to Vase Rock and (a little bit longer) to Beauty Beach; I spent my whole time on the beach snorkelling, surrounded by lots of giant turtles. I'm not a breakfast person, so didn't try the available options; but you get given vouchers for 100 TWD per morning for 2 local places, which seems like plenty. There is a Thai restaurant in the hotel; I didn't try it as it was really busy on my last night, but the food smelled delicious. Staff were really lovely and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

A little kettle in the room would have been good. Not an issue for the hotel, but just to warn you that the island gets crazy busy at the weekends, so visit during the week if you can.

Jen Jen was extremely accommodating when we did not realise the island was cash only with no ATMs for foreign cards. She created a PayPal account in order to get cash out for us. She also booked a trip for us to swim with the turtles which was very well organised and close to the hotel. She gave us a late check out as well free of charge. In general she was extremely helpful! As a side note the restaurant here is amazing and also great for vegetarians! All in all great place to stay if you’re going to XiaoLiuQiu
