Fox & Bear Lodge

The room decor was utterly charming - beautiful antique furniture and fabric patterns that evoke days of yore. Breakfast was fresh and delicious - quiche, fresh fruit, overnight oats, and donuts. No boxed cereal or powdered scrambled eggs here.

The four-poster bed was beautiful and quite comfortable, but very high off the ground. This made it difficult to get in and out of bed.

Very relaxing. Comfy bed, great nights sleep. Delicious hot breakfast. Self-check in. Privacy, coffee/tea bar in lobby.

Not many dinner options nearby.

Absolutely lovely place. Did not expect it to be as polished and put-together as it was, so we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The hosts were fantastic – friendly, helpful, and pleasant. We will definitely stay here again!

The $100 pet surcharge was a bit hard to swallow. I get why they do this, but it is a little steep. Perhaps $50 is more reasonable.

A B&B gem just on the New Jersey side of the border with New York State near Warwick, NY. Small (five quaintly appointed rooms) with comfortable beds and chairs, rockers on the veranda and their secret weapon, Florence, who not only cooks the amazingly tasty included daily breakfast but is full of suggestions for things to do. We also met with co-owner Dearrick whose warm greeting and appreciative manner made us feel like instant friends. For hikers there are plenty of trails in the area including a segment of the Appalachian Trail just a mile away. For more sedentary types, breweries, wineries and farm markets abound.

Nothing stands out as being lacking.
