Quaint, comfortable, inviting

The location was in private neighborhood close to town. The hostess was welcoming. The decor and grounds were charming. Our room was comfortable. We had a private bathroom, television, and air conditioning. There was bottled water and chocolate. There was soap, body wash, and shampoo. The towels were thick and absorbent. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and filling. We were served fruit plates, popovers, and individual ham and egg quiche plus coffee and juice.

Really, nothing.

breakfast was good, but had frittas both mornings. French toast, Pancakes etc on one day would have been nice for change of pace.

very small shower, Trees overgrown a bit in front of the property, but the husband is is laid up and not able to do yard work at present. Very nice owner.

Rooms/bath a bit small, but considering the age of house to be expected

Breakfast was certainly ample but there were no choices in menu.

The decor was dramatically Victorian, not my favorite.

The location is perfect. Just off a side street at the heart of Kilmarnock. And yet it seems like it's far out in the country on its own estate. It is surrounded by mature landscaping, large trees offering tons of shade, beautiful flowers lining the walk, in the front, and on the sides of the house. The host were very kind and accommodating. We stayed one night on a spontaneous trip and booked last minute. After packing up and leaving and traveling around the next day we decided we wanted to spend the next night as well and they were happy to accommodate us! Very nice couple that run the Inn. We had the most scrumptious quiche for breakfast! And great conversation around the breakfast table with the other guests. And the host joined in the conversation as well. Lots of storytelling and laughs! It was just a wonderful stay all the way around and we would highly recommend it to anyone that is staying in the area.

I felt very welcome from the moment I arrived, the host answered my questions clearly and gave me a very nice tour of the house and my room. This is a hidden gem in the Irvington / Kilmarnock area and I'll definitely put them at the top of my list when I visit again!
