"Beautiful place"

Very quiet room with a beautiful view. Walking distance to a beautiful beach.

We were served yummy fresh fruit but would have enjoyed some protein for breakfast as well

I really liked this place with everything about it. I felt like living in nature with the sound of birds and sound of nature around me. Steve made more than of an effort so that he doesn't disturb us.This place offers you peace and tranquility. The bed was incredabledy comfortable. Come here and find a bit of peace.I hope, I'll return here one day.

Stu, the owner who lives on site, met us and gave us a tour of the suite. I always appreciate when the owner does this, pointing out light switches, AC controls, etc. Breakfast is very good- cereal, yogurt, bagels, fresh fruit from the trees on the property- and is served on a large shared lanai, where you may be joined by guests in the second guest accommodation. Stu is very knowledgeable about Hawaiian history and we loved having conversations with him. Would definitely stay here again should we return to Hilo.

"All in all pretty good."

Clean, comfortable, great location. Steve let us use the snorkel gear which was great.

Unit didn’t have any cutlery or utensils. Didn’t have any way to cut up any fruit or any plates to put it on etc. Also we were there for four night and we only had one roll of toilet paper for two people. I’m sure we could ask for me if we had to, but that’s not really the point.

Orchid Tree B&B was everything we could have hoped for and more. Steve (and his wife) were excellent hosts, providing a great location while we stayed on the Hilo side of the island. The daily breakfast was a great way to start each day before we went off exploring. Steve was more than accommodating and shared his knowledge freely about places and things to see or do. And after a long day it was always nice to return to such a friendly, relaxing environment.

Loved the location, our room was tropically decorated with a Zen like vibe. The grounds were welcoming with even a pool and hot tub.
