We loved everything about the place.It ws quite just what we needed for a get away

The place is so beautiful, the rooms are lovely and spacious

Friendly and helpful staff and the room and bathroom is spacious and very clean. The breakfast was fresh and delicious and a good selection. The public area like swimming pool and veranda is lovely with enough seating area. I can highly recommend the Explorer guesthouse.

The location is great - close to many attractions and downtown. The staff very friendly and helpful.

The room has no heating at all - Stayed not even during winter (more spring) the room was like a fridge at night. You had to get into bed to heat up. Also no proper TV channels??

The hosts Simonette and Christine and the cleaning staff were wonderful. Simonette and Christine were very helpful and addressed all our needs. The property was central, safe, beautiful and private. It was a short walk to a restaurant, short drive to many others and a 10 min drive to Somerset Mall. The beds were great, bathrooms very clean, facilities (eg coffee machine and kettle)fabulous and rooms spacious. The breakfasts were wonderful. I was really impressed and would definitely stay again.

The hosts were extremely welcoming. We genuinely felt we could ask for anything and it wasn't too much trouble. I asked if I could borrow an electrical extension cable to work with my laptop next to the pool (which was nice and clean) and was not only given one but also asked if I wanted access to the coffee machine etc. The rooms were very clean and tidy and the staff were fabulous. The housekeeper was absolutely lovely and helped us sort out several of our own admin things. You just got the feeling that people wanted you to enjoy the stay and that's why they were going the extra mile. You feel quite secure as the area is quite nice and you can park your car in a secure gated area. The breakfast was excellent with a choice of hot or cold options. Maybe 10 minutes drive from the main mall in SW, easy access to Stellenbosch and Franschoek and stunning views of the Strand - unfortunately pictures not on my laptop yet to share! The facilities were generally very good. We slept very well and the room we stayed in was very spacious with a large en-suite.

It's really difficult to say anything that doesn't seem like nit-picking so in the interests of constructive criticism I can only say a few things like if there were USB outlets next to the beds that would be welcome. When we used the large selection of in room drinks the specific coffee we used didn't seem to always be replaced with the same ones (but we were offered the use of the machine and we were offered other drinks so didn't go without). That's really trivial stuff really. It also seems a general thing in South Africa to have quite a small safe in each room, which to me was surprising event thought the area seems very safe, but as I mentioned at other places it would have been nice to have a bigger safe that can take laptops and camera equipment etc. Again - nice to have things far from essential.
