B&B Villa Vis

Lovely location in a quiet part of Vis (but walking distance to restaurants, supermarket etc) in a beautiful old building. We had a spacious and comfortable room. Breakfast was great. But the best part we’re the owners: genuinely hospitable, warm and helpful.

Be aware that the staircase is narrow, making carrying the luggage more difficult. And the house is a bit noisy (you hear people above you and sounds from the staircase).

This refurbished historic stone house is in the heart of the Kut quarter of Vis town, about 20 minutes' walk from the ferry. There are numerous cafés and restaurants a few minutes' walk away and Grandovac pebble beach is a picturesque ten-minute walk along the waterfront. The property is well-maintained, the beds are comfortable, the breakfasts are generous and tasty and the whole place has a very personal ambience.

I was naively expecting Vis to be a sleepy, undiscovered island as described in some older travel literature. Not any more! The port and the small historic town which surrounds it are bustling with visitors from all over the world, including a large number of visiting cruise vessels. Not necessarily a problem - but if you want quiet and undiscovered, you now need to go somewhere else!

Host was accommodating and makes an excellent homely breakfast. Access to cold filtered water and coffee machine was a nice touch. Bedrooms & bathroom are very large. The right end of town for nicer restaurants & bars. Short stroll to many beaches & about 15-20 min walk from port area.

Access to bedrooms is via a very tight spiral staircase. This makes getting a 20kg suitcase up & down very challenging and dangerous. Not very suitable to 20kg suit cases unless you are very physically mobile. Bedrooms & bathroom layout are very spacious. I’d recommend sacrificing some space to put in a proper staircase.

Tatjana was super friendly and welcoming. She cooks an amazing breakfast every morning. She also helped us arrange a boat excursion and was generally helpful with info and tips about what to do in Vis. The room and shared spaces with facilities was very nice and had all we wished for.

Tatyana was a wonderful host as the location was in a cute part of Vis.
