Casa do Sembrano

Loved this accommodation, the owners did a spectacular job renovating this stunning villa. The hospitality we received was very elevated, linens were lux, the breakfast was wonderful.

Solch "Hotel" erwartet man nicht. Zuerst findest man es kaum, und dann ist man sprachlos. Ein liebevoll renoviertes altes Gebäude sondergleichen. Alte Mäuer, alte Bäume, Brunnen im Hof, Gewölbe innen und außen. Das Haus wird von einer jungen Familie geführt. Die Familie ist herzerfrischend zuvorkommend. Liebevoll vom Empfang zum Frühstück bis zur edlen bestickten Bettwäsche und der Verabschiedung. Dass es eine Garage gibt ist lobenswert. Nur man muss sich "einfädeln", also da gehts um cm. Aber das nimmt man in Kauf, weil Parkplätze nicht wirklich leicht zu finden sind. Die Lage ist absolut zentral, sprich alles fußläufig. Das Haus hat echt ein Flair, was es selten gibt. Und trotzdem alles am neuesten Stand!

Wir sind etwas heikel was die Matratzen betrifft. Mit Federkern macht man uns keine Freude. Aber nicht jeder spürt dies. Dass im Innenhof das WLAN nicht geht, liegt an den dicken Mauern. Aber all das akzeptiert man leicht oder vergisst es bei diesem geschichtsträgigen Haus schnell.

A wonderful recreation of an ancient building. You are staying in history. You can touch and feel the history. Mariana and Nuno should be so proud. They have created something so beautiful. Despite the hot weather when we visited, the building was lovely and cool, barely needing the ac which was at the ready. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom lovely. It was very quiet. Mariana created a beautiful breakfast. And we enjoyed the conversations with Nuno and Mariana. This is travel at its best. Thanks for looking after us

Fabulous 17th century house beautiful restored Fantastic hosts who provided us with great restaurant tips and places to visit. Great garage space for our motorbike. Lovely breakfast.

Nothing at all. The cobbled streets in the town may be a bit tricky for motorcyclists if it rains.

This was our second stay at Casa do Sembrano. It’s an incredible bed and breakfast property, probably the best we’ve ever stayed at. Such a beautiful property and renovated to the highest standard.

The breakfast was excellent, and Mariana took great care to provide for my dietary needs. The room was a lovely combination of modern chic and classic decoration, in a beautiful old building. We were delighted to find that there was even a garden we could enjoy. It all felt very exclusive but for a very reasonable cost

The only challenge was unloading our car, as there is nowhere to park outside the property. We did not try to use the garage as we had been warned that it was awkward to get into. However the museum carpark round the corner was not expensive and was easy to use.

Our hostess was excellent helped with local information and a dinner booking. Breakfast was excellent
