Spotlessly clean room with an impressively large, very comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious and genuinely generous — more than enough to fuel a full day out. Andrew and his family were brilliant hosts; friendly, hospitable, and full of fascinating local knowledge. The pub next door is an absolute gem — outstanding food and warm, professional staff (book ahead, it’s popular!). The location is the real star: hike straight from the doorstep, and a 20-minute drive in any direction reveals caves, dams, hills, and stunning country halls. We filled every day with something different.

As is common with older stone cottages, the room carries a slight mustiness and would benefit from a good airing before guests arrive. Some noise from downstairs in the mornings, though not a major issue if you’re up for breakfast anyway.

WiFi poor Breakfast was lovely, would prefer the cold selection of food & drink to be free to grab instead of being ordered
