Die Hostin, Diana, war so super freundlich und lieb. Sie hatte immer hervorragende Tipps und bei Fragen war sie für einen da. Das Zimmer war sehr schön. Es gab gefiltertes Wasser und auch Obst.

Tout ! Nous avions une chambre pour deux. On se sent comme à la maison, littéralement. Tout est organisé et propre. Place de parking comprise dans le logement (1 par chambre). Diana (qui tient la maison) est adorable ! Elle veille à ce que tout se passe au mieux et que tout le monde passe un bon moment La salle de bain est commune. Mais aucune crainte, tout est très propre La literie est très confortable La vue sur l’océan est très sympa ! Le quartier est très calme, il faut absolument avoir une voiture (mais comme partout à Big Island, impossible de visiter l’île sans voiture) Mahalo Diana ☺️

unfortunately my stay here was disappointing for several reasons: 1. Pests – There were small ants everywhere inside the room, including on the table, in the sink, and even on the bed sheets. Sometimes there were also geckos in the room. (For ants and gecko see attached photos.) 2. Noise & insulation – The soundproofing was very poor. At night, the extremely loud insect noises outside the window went on until nearly dawn, and closing the window didn’t help. I could also hear the owner and other guests moving around the building and talking. 3. No air conditioning – There was no AC in the room. In the afternoon it got uncomfortably hot inside, and opening the windows did not make much difference. 4. A lot of house rules – There were about 20 rules written on paper that guests had to follow. While I understand this is a small business, the rules felt very detailed and restrictive. The homeowner often stayed in the downstairs living room and frequently asked me questions to confirm whether I was following the rules, and suggested additional things to “better protect the house.” 5. Checkout incident – On the morning of my checkout （Aug 22ndI woke up to find menstrual blood on the sheet, which had already dried. This is an unfortunate but common risk in the hospitality industry. White sheets with bleach are normally used for exactly this reason. At that point, there was nothing practical I could do other than pack my bags and check out. After I left, however, the owner called me and said I should have woken up in the middle of the night to wash the sheet (though I didn’t know about it until morning). She also said I was the “messiest guest she had ever had” and say she will keep my entire deposit. （there is already a $50 cleaning fee） I want to emphasize: I did not intentionally make a mess, and I tried to respect all the written rules. But clearly there were also many unwritten rules in the owner’s mind. 6. Laundry is charged at $10 per load.
