Villa Arnica, a Member of Design Hotels

Fabulously renovated old villa located at the foot of the mountains and decorated with plenty of love for the small details. Very good breakfast and lunch options at the villa itself. We enjoyed to use the facilities of the two partner hotels (Schwarzschmied for SPA and dinner and Reichhalter 1477 for dinner). Every dish we had at any of the places was fantastic! Thanks for this great stopover at the end of our vacation in Italy!

Ambiance and staff

Nothing to unlike, already booked our 3rd visit

Beautiful small hotel with a lot of soul, intimate, well-decorated, very comfortable. Excellent food (only high quality local products) - the breakfast is truly fantastic! Also liked that we could access the services (spa etc.) of the Schwarzschied hotel next door. Staff consists of a group of extremely nice young people that seem very committed to the hotel and its values. Hotel works on trust (you declare what you take at the bar, doors are always open). Nice music playlist by the pool and in the living room. We really loved our stay and will hopefully come back!

Staff was not very proactive: we weren't given enough information about the hotel and had to figure out a lot of things by ourselves. We weren't informed when there was a change of plans e.g. laundry is not ready). Housekeeping was too minimalistic and consisted only of quickly making the bed and cleaning the shower. Our bed was only changed after 4 nights and only after we asked the staff for new linen (if that's a hotel policy for preserving the environment, guests should be told how it works as this is quite unusual). The surfaces in the bathroom (admittedly encumbered) were not cleaned and our objects were never touched so the room felt like a mess. A small turndown service would be a nice touch in a hotel of this category. Pseudo-antique alarm clocks and phones in the rooms are a design faux-pas.
