Solar dos Alperces - Serra da Estrela - Turismo de Aldeia

Host gave us a literal warm welcome after many rainy and cold xmas days. Decoration was eclectic, cute and felt like home. Real roses in the common area, lovely paintings on the walls, a nice mix of wood/stone walls, many windows, etc. Enjoyed the time sitting by the fireplace, only thing missing would be a dog (the house pet is a border collie but we did not have time to meet sadly). Didn't experience any cleaning service, but the "granite" room looked great uppon arrival (the key holder was cute too). It is a nice touch how neatly folded terry was with a cardboard seal, and disposable slippers are much apreciated. Tasty chocolates and bottle of water on the vanity desk. Loved the vanity mirror next to the sink in the bathroom. Liked that the toiletries were big bottles. Dinner recommendation couldnt have been better, over at Cristina, and the breakfast was excellent with many good Jam/jelly options and the orange juice was great too!

I suggest to put on some hangers in the bathroom, for used towels, especially near the sink, for a hand-drying towel. The ventilation made a weird noise in the bathroom, and wish you also had hair conditioner.

The owner and staff really couldn't be more welcoming. It is one of those places where 5 minutes after your arrival you feel completely at home. There are several little corners where you can just relax and enjoy the environment. Breakfast was varied and with great ingredients.
