La Hermosa Vista

Astrid and Saskia made us feel so very welcome and comfortable at La Hermosa Vista; we enjoyed chatting to them and picking their brains for local knowledge. Breakfast was delicious and served, I felt, with a genuine pleasure in having us enjoy eating it. The garden is lovely, filled with the scent of orange blossom and the pool provided a welcome cooling dip. Our room and ensuite bathroom were large and very comfortable with a lovely little balcony to sit on. It's a great base from which to venture out to do some hiking - we went up to El Torcal and to the Parque Nacional de Ardales. We hadn't booked to do the Caminito del Rey but ended up finding a great route to follow in the same area which was great.

We weren't super keen on the town of Álora itself, but were very happy to use La Hermosa Vista as an extremely comfortable base from which to explore the numerous places of interest in the area. Perhaps it's also fair to say that our visit was from Sunday to Wednesday; the town might have a little more to offer at other times of the week at this time of year.

The hosts are exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The accommodation is spacious and well-kept, the kitchen with self-served drinks at reasonable prices is a nice concept. A true gem in this area!

The last stretch of dirt road can be a bit challenging to drive on because of potholes, but it's worth the effort — the secluded area is wonderful and very calm.

Our hosts were wonderful! The pool and garden, the breakfast, all were great! We were given very good restaurant recommendations as well. It was a short walk into town and a quiet and peaceful place to relax.

Our hostesses made us feel right at home. The place is so beautiful and peaceful. We wanted to eat dinner in the town of Alora and our hostess drove us to drop us off town to eat We walked back. It was so nice. If I could put higher than five stars, I would!

access is not easy (Waze could not give us the right way. Google maps was OK). the way is bumpy in the end but if you do not drive to fast it is not a problem.
