Very genuine and friendly owners who made our stay so enjoyable. Comfortable room and a really nice looking hotel. We were disappointed as we wanted to stay an extra night but no rooms were available. Can highly recommend.

We were easily able to walk to the Fort for dinner and shopping. The hosts and staff were lovely, the rooms a good size and the breakfast yummy. The property is nice and quiet at night. Loved having the balcony and clothes rack to dry my clothes.

This is a minor issue, but potentially could have created a bigger problem? Two of us (in different rooms) had minor falls in the bathroom due to the unmarked step. I ended up putting a brightly coloured wash cloth on the corner of the step to remind me of the drop off. If possible, it might make it safer to add a warning strip to the step. I know it sounds crazy, but because the sink was right beside the drop, it was easier than I would have thought to make a misstep.

Il Brixia di Galle è stato senza dubbio il nostro miglior soggiorno in tutto lo Sri Lanka. La struttura è gestita da una coppia meravigliosa, lui locale e lei italiana: sono semplicemente deliziosi, gentili e sempre disponibili. Anche tutto lo staff è davvero stupendo, attento e sorridente, capace di farti sentire accolto fin dal primo momento. La camera, come tutta la struttura, è arredata con gusto e grande cura. Spaziosa, pulitissima, con un bel balcone e letti comodissimi. Il bagno è ampio, con una doccia enorme e acqua caldissima; una piacevolissima sorpresa anche la presenza del bidet. La colazione è super buona, preparata con attenzione e qualità. Un posto in cui ci siamo sentiti davvero bene, curati in ogni dettaglio. Se tornassimo a Galle, sceglieremmo senza dubbio di nuovo il Brixia.

The staff is stellar! Everyone is extremely kind and friendly with no expectations. They all were really enjoying their job. They even gave me a to-go breakfast bag since I left early. The room was great, had a big balcony, which I didn’t get to use unfortunately. It is walkable from the fort, the bus station, the train station. Very lively neighborhood and very Lankan. It is not like other places where you only see tourists. The bathroom is massive and was kept so clean.

No major gripes. Just remember it is not inside the fort area so plan accordingly.
