Galeta Masseria

The 15th century tower we stayed in is located within a walled garden in the middle of farmland and feels wonderfully isolated but only a short drive from the main road. We had a very relaxing stay and Alessandro our host was fantastic. He served us a lovely local style breakfast each morning with home baked cakes, fruit from the garden and cheese also home made. The decor is also perfect and would not look out of place in an interiors magazine or Condé Nast Traveler.

Chic, carefully considered and full of history, Masseria Galeta makes for a peaceful and authentic stay. We loved the beautifully designed apartment which opened out into the intimate courtyard. The breakfast room was truly beautiful, raised over the fields, where homemade cakes and taralli are served on stunning local ceramics. Alessandro and Emeline were kind hosts, offering their tips on the best beaches nearby and lending us a beach umbrella for our days our. We particularly loved the rocky beaches at Porto Selvaggio, Santa Caterina and Santa Maria Al Bagno, as well as the towns of Nardò and Galatina, all around a 30 min drive away. Due to us being there in August, Porto Caesarea and Sant’Isidoro were too packed to visit, so it was necessary to travel a bit further south. However the closer beaches would be perfect out of the peak holiday season.

All was perfect. We would have loved to sample the cheese produced on the estate, however we sadly missed the aperitivo when this is offered. Perhaps a little could be sampled at breakfast too.

This a hidden gem for those looking for a boutique experience while visiting Puglia. The masseria is on a working farm and offers an excellent breakfast and option aperitivo featuring ingredients and products either grown on the farm or sourced locally. I would love to come back.

We really enjoyed our stay in the beautiful and idyllic Masseria. The location is really ideal to explore all the nice beaches. Allesandro the host is really kind and caring for his guest. He gives good recommendations. Also the breakfast was really good!

What a great stay! Alessandro was friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. This farmhouse stay had an incredible castle on sight with loads of cute animals and beautiful scenery. He also gave us a ton of info on where to go in the region. We were treated with breakfast every morning with fresh fruit, homemade cakes, and coffee. The stay felt private with only a few other couples on site at the same time. It was quiet and serene. The Family room was clean and had all amenities. the decor is also very thoughtfully considered. Excellent time, highly recommended. We wish we stayed longer! Gennaro and Christine
