The Greenleaf House

Location was great. Wonderful beach. Good transport to city.

Breakfast was quite lame. They only found oatmeal, so we were lucky we brought snacks.

I was pleasantly surprised that it was so close to the beach and very quiet at night.

Kind of outdated and pretty far from everything. Nothing much to do nearby. Bathtub was pretty dirty too, but my room was clean.

I liked meeting the other guests. They were so welcoming

It is a great place to stay with great value. I always want to stay here when I come to Chicago.

The thermastat upstairs was cold. Usually I like this, but there were no extra blankets and I had only a thin coverlet. It was cold.

Very affordable location! We liked that it's similar to staying in a hostel. Multiple rooms upstairs, 2 shared bathrooms, and then a full common area downstairs with a large dining room table, cozy living room and kitchen. Living room decor and furniture was very cute. We stayed in the King bedroom upstairs and it was very spacious and comfy. Check-in and access to building was very easy and felt secure. Host communicated everything we needed before we got there. Towels were provided as well so that was nice since we didn't pack those. There was a filtered water station downstairs that was convenient for filling our water bottles.

We were able to find a parking spot, but it was a tight squeeze and felt kind of sketchy with the location in the back alley. Only 3 spots total, with 2 behind the house, but we were able to grab the last one available. The vehicle next to us was parked crooked so almost couldn't fit. The walls are super thin inside the house, so you can hear everything. We weren't even there 5 minutes and while just checking out the place and talking amongst ourselves (not even raising our voices) another guest downstairs rudely said to us that people were taking work meetings in their rooms so we needed to be quiet. It was 5pm.... so that immediately put us in a bad mood. Felt like we couldn't even talk in our own room without being worried we were being too loud. Overall, the place itself was great, especially for the price. We probably would've enjoyed it way more with different guests there that we could've sat and hung out with.

I loved the location! The property was not even a one minute walk away from Loyola Beach and Park.It was also very spacious and clean and cozy.
