The Old School B&B

Breakfast to order - good quality and quantity. Bedroom was ideal for what I needed as a solo traveller. Owners were very friendly and chatty over breakfast as I was the only one there at the time.

Check in could have contained more information. I was told where my room key was and asked what time I would like breakfast. It would have been good to have known about late entry to the property, where to go if I had issues, what areas of the property were out of bounds, etc.

Location perfect, as were the hosts and the breakfast. Would definitely stay there again.

It was good value for money.

B&B looks cosy and quaint online, but that's not really the vibe in real life. I think the living room is a communal area for guests but I can't imagine anyone ever using it. The owner would not let us use microwave to heat a pot of soup. I know the kitchen is not for guests, but it would have been pleasant to just say yes.

We particularly enjoyed the breakfasts. Good, appropriate food served on vintage crockery! Served in a homely room with a friendly atmosphere.

Just one little niggle. A bedside light on both sides of the double bed would have been good.

The room was quiet after 10pm. I slept well. Breakfast was just right; perfectly cooked poached eggs. Excellent coffee in a generous sized pot.

. During the evening there were several loud bangs as a fierce self-closing door shut. I switched the extractor fan off because it lasted too long after I’d switched it off.

good food, comphy bed, clean, could have used a tv in the room. Decor is a bit faded. great price so would come again!

This is a lovely homely B&B and exactly as you would expect it to be. The family that own it are very friendly and cannot do enough for you. The breakfast is fantastic
