Bel Zoe

Very interesting place, lots of details, beautiful garden. Loved outside kitchen!!!

The Bed and Breakfast Bel Zoe is placed in a very nice landscape. There is a lovely garden that is well kept.

We had booked a room of 20 sqm with access to garden and shared toilet and bathing facilities. The Owner contacted me the day before our arrival at 6.30 pm and suggested that instead of us having a room of 20 square meters with access to garden we should stay in a room upstairs. The explanation for this was very unclear. The owner stated that we would have more privacy upstairs. She mentioned another guest of foreign heritage but it was unclear if this person was staying downstairs or upstairs. The communication was unsuccessful. At first I said ok and asked about the upstairs facilities and if the room would be the same, if there was a balcony. The owner wrote that the bed was the same and that all rooms have the same size. I changed my mind and said that I would like my original room back. This was ignored by the owner. When she first wrote to me it was already too late to cancel the booking without extra coat and too late to book something else. We ended up in a room of no more than 8 sqm. When we arrived the owner was not very welcoming, and hurried to move on only just saying hello and you can find your way to the room by yourselves. The bed filled most of the room. It was old and worn and the springs in the bed were no longer flexible. There was a note stating that we should clean the place and keep it tidy. When we opened the cleaning cupboard in the hallway we were met by an overpowering stench from the floor mop that had clearly not been washed for a very long time. Even after we closed the door the stench remained. In the bathroom the the drain had not been cleaned for a very long time. It was so clogged that the water could not drain out. Instead, the bathroom floor was flooded with water. When I lifted the grate I could see that the drain was completely stopped, not only the insert, but also the drain right. There were spiders web all over and dust, also under the bed. Linen and towels were clean.
