really loved Gisa and Fred’s hospitality! they cooked me a wonderful vegetarian meal and were really pleasant to talk to. the area and patio was peaceful, and it was an ideal location to help split up the mountain ascend on the Camino I’d definitely come back

We loved our stay at this B&B. It was so relaxing and comfortable after a long, hot day on the camino. Our hosts, Gisa and Fred could not have been nicer or more helpful. Our dinner was one of our best meals on our walk and breakfast was also excellent. I highly recommend a stay at Quinta Labruja.

great rooms! Amazing view, so clean and cozy, the bed was so comfortable and the rooms had perfect temperature. The food was very tasty and the owners were very friendly. They were very helpful, and very kind, giving us good advice for the journey ahead.

Although the salad we had was very tasty, it lacked nutrients to be filling enough after a day of walking. We missed a kettle to boil water for tea and coffee, and it was a shame that we were not allowed to handwash our few pieces of clothes.

Quinta Labruja is a beautifully restored home, decorated and furnished to a great standard. With only two rooms, it is a lovely quiet and peaceful place to stay. I had both dinner and breakfast at the property, and both were wonderful. It is located at the top of a hill giving beautiful views across the hillside. Gisa and Fred are the kindest and most wonderful hosts, they went above and beyond to offer us great hospitality.

Our favorite stay during our Camino. We decided to walk from Casa Fernanda through Ponte de Lima to this stop. What a great decision. We arrived late and the owners were so gracious, giving these two tired Pilgrms a very good glass of wine and snacks. We had not booked dinner (Do so, as there is nothing around and you will not regret it) but they made us jsut the most amazing salad and potato fritta. In morning, the breakfast was amazing with homemade yogurt. It is a truly beautiful spot and well worth the extra walk from Ponte de Lima - not to mention, it cuts the climb up the mountain in half! Also, this is right on the Camino. A BIG THANK YOU - I hope I can go back and stay for a few days and just enjoy your home and the area!

Absolutely nothing!

One of the best places I stayed at during my camino, and perfectly located right on the camino trail. The owners Gisa and Fred were the perfect hosts and treated me more like a friend than a mere guest passing by. The quinta was so cozy and lovely, with meaningful themed decorations. My room was huge, clean, and very comfortable, and the glass doors let in the sunlight. The bathroom was modern and water pressure was perfect, with hot water available. I was welcomed after a sweaty day of walking with a cold beer and chips, and was able to prop my feet up and feel the nice wind outside. Dinner was a delicious vegan gourmet spread prepared by Gisa herself -- everything tasted so good! After a quiet night and good sleep, I was treated once again to a delicious breakfast spread prepared by Gisa. My stay felt more like a vacation than a camino stop, and I wish I could have stayed longer. Plus the cost of my stay was so affordable and I got so much more than what I paid for. Thank you, Gisa and Fred, for welcoming me into your lovely B&B!

The place is amazing and so friendly. Gina and Fred are fantastic host! Gina cooks a dinner for the hungry peregrinos that is excellent. Fred is extremely friendly and helpful with his suggestions. Absolutely recommended!

One of the best stays on the Camino! Casa Labruja is a beautiful and charming 300-year-old house, perfectly restored and full of character. The room was cozy, the breakfast fresh and delicious — but what truly made the difference were the hosts, Gisa and Fred. They are incredibly warm, attentive, and thoughtful — they made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Every detail showed their care, from helpful tips to genuine kindness. If you’re walking the Camino or visiting the region, don’t miss the chance to stay here. It’s more than just a place to sleep — it’s an experience filled with heart. My short overnight stay at Quinta Labruja was like staying at a relative’s home. The host were so warm and welcoming from moment one. The B&B built from a 500 year old stone shell, is absolutely wonderful. The bedroom was perfect and the bathroom super modern and clean. The setting on a mountainside was jaw-dropping beautiful. Decoration using old furniture of heavy wood. The B&B as a place to stay and sleep was perfect, but this does not even scratch the story. As I checked in late in the afternoon, I was greet with wide smiles and handshake of both the lady and gent of the house. Immediately I felt more at home than I have since I left my home in Seguin, TX, USA two weeks ago. Gisaashowed me my room, explained how to use features of the B&B, and asked what welcome drink I would like. I chose a white wine. I freshened up a bit, that took my laptop out to the beautiful wood table in the courtyard. Looking over homes in the valley, and on the side of the mountain across from us, made for a totally relaxing place to write. Soon Fred brought a very nice chilled white wine, along with a few chips and crackers. Simply perfect! After a shower I made my way to the dining room. Here I met a couple from Germany. The salad came, and as a green salad with a few grapes in it, the finish was a delightful herb dressing. The main course came after a bit, and it was this that was heavenly Gesele had prepared vegetarian lasagna. I have never in my life eaten something so alive with flavor. Oh Wow!! When it came time to leave, Gisa was very helpful ordering me a taxi. As the driver was placing my bag into the taxi , I was actually sad to be leaving. Gesele and Fred were so caring, so warm, and simply beautiful people. With hugs, we said our goodbyes. I highly recommend Quita Labruja if you are in the region. I would go out of my way to stay in this wonderful place again. Thank you to both of you for your warm friendship during my stay.
