B&B SERENA

The host seemed nice over text. We appreciated the kitchen / common space.

On arrival we had to double check the address, because the only sign of the B&B was a handwritten "Serena" on the bell, otherwise there was no signage. No one answered the door and when our local friend called the phone number listed at booking, they were told we were supposed to pick up the keys at a nearby cafe. To be fair, we were sent a message through booking.com, but kind of last minute and once we were on the road and without internet. So we did not see the message in time. Overall, we never saw anyone in person and there were a few other last minute instructions. It would have been nice to have some printed instructions in the room, as is typically the case. Breakfast was not at the property but at the cafe where we picked up the keys. This was somewhat disappointing and not like some of the pictures. We were told to "la colazione siete nostri ospiti alla Pasticceria", which translates to something like "just go there and pick what you like" and was kind of strange. Food was good but selection was somewhat limited, mostly sandwiches and pastries. The room was nice, although space was at a premium and we had some challenges to fit in/walk around our luggage. Bathroom was also tight/hard to maneuver and had no ventilation (or at least a window) to remove the moisture after showering. Sink water flow was weak and had hot water only if you ran shower at the same time. Looked a bit as if the bathroom used to be a walk-in closet and was only added later. Street outside was kind of noisy during the night on Friday and Saturday as people were coming home from bars. Overall the place is okay and I can imagine it working better for someone staying over for just one night with minimal luggage, especially if they have local internet and can communicate with the host with less hassle than us.

Beautiful clean room with nice big bed. Nice decoration, clean and spacy room with big bathroom. It's located close to Perugia city centre, just walk up stairs and you are there. It's located in small alley and small door, so first time you go you have to search it little bit. Really nice host and good breakfast offered at local good cafeteria nearby.

The owner of this B&B was delightful, she couldn't do enough to make our stay great. She is very thoughtful - actually met us on the corner and brought us to the place. Then during our stay she left us some very special Umbrian treats to eat - all homemade. Breakfast was at a little cafe on the corner. The staff was most accommodating and we could choose what ever we wanted. The kitchen facilities were also good, so we could have a coffee in the room when we first woke up. We loved being here.
