From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such warmth. Everything was clean and tidy, and the view over the area was absolutely stunning. The hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and we received an excellent recommendation to dine at Taberna Macaria – the food was delicious. The town itself is incredibly charming and beautiful. We enjoyed many walks through picturesque alleys and corners, always met with smiles and kind words – what a hidden gem. In the evening, we had another great meal and were welcomed with genuine warmth at Mercato Ristorante Enoteca. Our stay ended with a very nice Breakfast If you’re thinking of visiting Artena – do it! You’re guaranteed a good night’s stay at this place. We’ll be back soon.

Beautiful town, Il Monaco is in the heart of the historic centre, a bit of a climb from the car park, but we were aware of that when we booked. Parking was easy and free. Maria Grazia was welcoming and very helpful. We had a great room and wonderful breakfast.

It was advertised as having wifi, but the wifi did not work. Don’t book this place if you require internet. It didn’t reach our room, and our room was the closest to the router, and when we went and sat by the router it barely worked either. Also it’s non accessible by car which is not advertised on the listing, and you are only told this AFTER you book, so also not suitable if you have large luggage as it’s lots of steps up for about 8 minutes. The air-con also leaked and left a huge pool of water on the floor. Update - After leaving some constructive feedback about the wifi which the staff could have taken on board, the hosts have continued to message me (4 times without reply) calling me rude and demanding I change my review. They have even gone as far as to try and add me on instagram to pressure me again. During our stay, the staff were accomodating, however the multiple private messages of abuse following our review is not acceptable or professional.
