Dirty carpet,only 1 pillow but no staff avaliable when we noticed it wasn't enough pillows Came downstairs after check in but couldn't get table due to being a party there (just should of been told really)

On initial arrival the owner was polite and chatty, upgraded my original room booking.

The room is tired looking and although on the surface seemed clean it wasn't. On leaving the hotel I noticed bites all over my hands, arms and body. Having sort advice from a Pharmacist I was prescribed medication to treat Bed Mite bites. I contacted the owner, initially via message, then telephone call who got irrate, shouting and telling me that I must have brought them into the room, yet at the same time denying they where even there. I had forwarded pictures of some of bites and he simply sent me Google searched images telling me I was wrong. He then told me the good thing about reviews is he can reply and that a bad review wouldn't matter to him, and that he would simply deny any fault. He also told me he had guest with him in the room checking and they were appalled I had called to complain. When asked if I could speak to a guest he refused to let me. I had originally contacted him to make him aware and ensure the room (No1) was cleaned and treated accordingly. Due to his attitude and rudeness I have filled a complaint with Environmental Health. Extremely rude, angry and dismissive staff, I will never be looking to stay at this hotel again.

Great welcome, pub was very cosy with the fire going, room was excellent, heating had been put on prior to our arrival. Very comfy bed, great shower, spotlessly clean. Enjoyed a nice pint in the bar by the fire!
