B&B Porta Della Sicilia

Breakfast fine. Half hour walk to train station but I knew that.

No reception. No one there to let me in. Had to get locals to phone owner. A code to open front gate would have been nice. Rosie who served breakfast was wonderful.

Location, cleanliness and comfort.

I did not see any person when I arrived. Only until next day I sow another human.

Room stunk of tobacco smoke. Bathroom was across a public hallway. Property behind a locked fence so difficult to get in or out.

Room was in a fairly good size and clean, A private parking place was provided.

This was the worst facility we booked during our Italian trip. The facility was not in a good shape because the building was under some sort of construction. The private bathroom described in the booking's website was not really "private". There were two bathrooms being assigned to different guest rooms. We had to pass the public area to reach the one that was assigned to us. We were given a key to open/lock your bathroom, but we fount that the two bathrooms actually use the same kay, so there was really nothing to prevent other guest to open and use the bathroom assigned to us. In addition, the host was not easy to communicate with. We were not given an instruction about how to enter the facility. When we arrived, we couldn't get in. We sent a couple of messages but received no response. We eventually made a phone call to reach the host. Breakfast was included but only prepackaged croissant and snacks were provided.

i didn't like anything about the B&B

The B&B is located in a rather shabby suburban area. The rooms available for booking do not have en-suite facilities. The breakfast was poor and the building is currently undergoing external refurbishment, which means that it is surrounded by external scaffolding covered by plastic sheeting that does not even allow the windows to be opened. What I dispute is that this information did not appear on the Booking website, so I found the description on Booking completely misleading.

Very nice place to stay in Messina, clean, comfortable, everything you need

Very kind staff, very helpful also with last minute booking, we could stay overnight with our dog and they offered me a gluten free sweet bun in the morning (I am coeliac) and chocolate croissant for my husband.
