We loved staying in this historic apartment above the oldest bookstore in Iceland. It is quite an authentic experience with original furniture and creaky floors, beautifully decorated small rooms.

Schöne Lage am Hafen. Historisches Gebäude mit Buchhandlung im Erdgeschoss. Im Obergeschoss teilen sich 3 Zimmer Küche, Wohnzimmer und die 2 Bäder. Personal ist sehr freundlich. Die Unterkunft wird jeden Tag sauber geputzt und der Kühlschrank für das Frühstück neu gefüllt. Das einzige, sehr gemütliche Restaurant befindet sich in der Nähe (montags bleibt die Küche geschlossen),

Lovely traditional Icelandic property. It feels like living a bit of history. Flateyri is such a beautiful place and the old bookstore so iconic that it was a privilege to stay here. Super comfortable bed and a very helpful and responsive host. We loved it!

Nothing at all we didn’t like. It’s worth noting that the bathrooms are shared but as long as you know that beforehand, it’s all good.
