What a find !!! Stunning location , Marguerite the host was amazing , delicious and plentiful breakfast too ! Fab village restaurant in walking distance too and the castle worth a visit .

Awesome place. This 500 year old convent was completely restored into a gorgeous home. Everything was very tastefully done with authenticity & craftsmanship. Our bedroom was huge, bigger than a studio. Our host was warm & lovely, also welcoming our dog. Breakfast was homemade including plenty of fresh fruit. Had one of our best portuguese meals at Pe da Cabra, the restaurant in Upper Marialva (only interesting one).

Only having one night here!

This is an excellent experience, very different from the n orm but I'd thoroughly recommend it 😁

Location and the place was very cozy and historic

We stayed in a generously sized room in a 500 year old renovated farmhouse in one of the most magical villages in Portugal. The lady who ran the property was lovely and made us feel like family. The breakfast was great and we loved visiting the castle which is actually the ruins of the walled medieval village. It is actually one of the most incredible sites to visit as you can see the streets and what's left of the houses as well as public buildings like the town square. We thought it would be a stopping off point but it was actually a highlight of our trip to Portugal.

The breakfast was generous and super delicious.

I'm always amazed by the Portuguese hospitality, but what I experienced in Casa das Freiras, is beyond anything. The hosts, the place, the breakfast were all incredible. There is no short review that could describe it. <3

The breakfast was delicious. The house was also beautiful, filled with antiques. The owners were so kind. Will come back for sure.
