Dar Tozeur

Beautiful restored dar just inside the medina gate. Parking was on the street just outside the gate (completely safe - we left our car there for three days), leaving just a one-minute walk to the front door. Staff were all really friendly and catered to our every need. Just enough English spoken to communicate effectively, French is the preferred language. Rooms are large, beautiful and full of character. We had a separate sitting area, bedroom with two wardrobes, bathroom and a large shared balcony with another room (though no occupant during our stay). The grounds are amazing - two pools, loungers, palm trees, sitting areas throughout. They offer spa treatments and hamman experiences for reasonable prices. Dined there each of our three nights, choosing the three-course menu for 85 dinar/pp. Excellent meals! They offer beer, wine and cocktails as well. Walk out the back garden gate and you're in the heart of the medina, which is unlike those of Tunis or Marrakech. The medina is a residential area, with only a couple shops, and is for wandering the narrow lanes to admire the architecture. A relaxing and enjoyable experience!

The ambiance at the pool. Easy to meet and chat to other guests. Very accomodating staff. Possibility for wellness.

Airco didnt work and the outside temp hit 33, but we did request and get a fan.

Está un poco difícil de encontrar. Según a qué horas, era difícil encontrar al personal de recepción.

L’hôtel est très bien situé dans la médina, dès que vous poussez la porte vous entrez dans un véritable havre de paix traditionnel avec des piscines dont une chauffée. Le décor est vraiment sublime. L’ensemble de l’établissement ainsi que la chambre sont parfumées d’une belle odeur de fleurs l’oranger fort agréable. Le personnel est d’une amabilité exemplaire. Un accueil parfait avec un jus d’orange pressé et des gâteaux. Nous avons pu récupérer la chambre plus tôt que prévu ce qui nous a enchanté. Merci encore

Nous avions la chambre safran qui était au premier étage à côté du restaurant dans l’escalier. Le problème de cette chambre est qu’elle est dans le passage nous entendons donc tout, de plus les fenêtres et le balcon ont le vis à vis du restaurant. Le petit déjeuner était décevant et pas à la hauteur du standing de ce bel hôtel. Pas d’œufs proposés par exemple, ni d’eau… pour parfaire l’expérience il faudrait demander aux clients quelle boisson chaude ils désirent et la cuisson des œufs (à ajouter) par exemple idem pour la boisson froide.

Very beautiful place, lovely room, very comfortable, firm mattress. The breakfast was served by the pool, a lovely view and the smaller pool was heated - though we were there early evening and morning and the weather outside was a bit chilly to try that in March! They also served a pretty good (alcohol) mojito :). Great service

The private terrace looked over a bit of a building site, not much to be done about that, but we also shared a terrace with the room next door - far prettier :). I only wish we had longer there

Hotel d'une beauté époustouflante, façon houche, refaçonné par un architecte tunisien dans l'esprit des maisons de la médina, en brique de Tozeur. Des coursives, des terrasses, des balcons, un roof top, un décor au goût parfait, un personnel nombreux (pour un hôtel de 8 chambres) et toujours disponible. Petit-déjeuner copieux servi au bord de la piscine bordée de palmiers, dans un calme absolu. Le restaurant est excellent lui aussi (le poulet aux olives!). Court séjour impeccable, vraiment.

Le personnel poli, serviable, au petit soin. C’était très touchant. Je les remercie mille fois pour leur gentillesse qui vient du fond du cœur

Dans le voisinage, il y a des chiens errants. C’est dommage parce qu’ils aboient toute la nuit. Et c’est assez dérangeant. Mais bon. Ce n’est la faute de personne…

Friendly, helpful and kind staff everywhere. The service was incredible and the place itself is beautiful. So many places to sit by the pool, read a book, or enjoy the calmness of the space. The room was fantastic and the breakfast was wonderful. Would highly recommend.
