B&B Carlo V

We spent one week at B&B Carlo V and were absolutely delighted with our stay. The location couldn’t be better – right in the heart of Crotone’s old town, directly opposite the historic castle (entry €2). From the terrace you have a great view of it. A lovely touch: in front of the castle, a lady in historical costume tells the story (also available in English). Tip: go early in the morning before the cruise ships dock, as it gets crowded very quickly. The B&B is wonderfully central and you really live among the locals, which makes the experience feel authentic. From the outside the building looks rather simple, but once you step through the gate you find a charming hallway leading to the apartments. Access is very secure with two gates. Please note: the property is not barrier-free (stairs, slippery when raining) and not suitable for wheelchair users or guests with mobility issues. There are about five rooms of different sizes. We had the largest one with three beds and a small fridge. Everything was spotless and well maintained. Two housekeepers cleaned the room carefully every day, and the whole place always smelled fresh. We always had everything we needed, and whenever we had a question or needed help, the staff responded quickly and kindly. Breakfast is typically Italian: one cappuccino or espresso and a sweet pastry. Guests receive a voucher for the café next door (visible from the terrace). The staff there are warm and welcoming. The café itself is simple, but very pleasant – a perfect start to the day. Parking is another big plus: we almost always found a free parking spot nearby. Only once did we have to drive around the block a second time. In high season it might be a bit more challenging, though. Our tip: If you walk right into the small alleys from the gate, you’ll discover beautiful corners, authentic restaurants, and friendly locals. We never had a bad meal, always enjoyed excellent wine, and felt welcome everywhere.

Bien situé prés du centre de Crotone et lungomare, neuf, très propre, confortable, belle terrasse pour petit-déj. Self check-in prarique et facile, propriétaire très sympathique et disponible. Parking sous la structure ou autour du.château pas toujours facile mais on trouve
