The Bear

Close to town & the room was very nice. Lots of places to eat & drink all in close proximity. Really nice bath shower 🛀

Weather was very warm so had to have windows open. Unfortunately our room was overlooking main road and from 7am to 10pm quiet noisy. Bed was quite hard but 2nd night was bit better. We were hoping there was a bar downstairs there is not. But maybe we didn't do enough research when booking

Clean modern spacious and well located with free parking

It would be helpful if portable fans were provided for use in this warm weather

We stopped at The Bear for a one-night stay on our way to North Wales and had a truly lovely experience! The place is simple but very pleasant - warm, comfortable, and spotless, and the hosts were incredibly welcoming and kind. We also loved Rhayader, which is such a charming and peaceful town. We really enjoyed our short stay and would highly recommend it!

Although I noted at the time of booking that pets were not allowed, I have over many years stayed at properties throughout the UK with the same statement & we have always left our dogs securely in our vehicle overnight in the carpark.. To be told on arrival that animals were not allowed anywhere on the site was an immense shock. We had to forgo our booking costing £75 & find alternative accommodation in the area. Perhaps the "no animals anywhere on the site" statement should be more prominent on their webpages. It did occur to me how many other folk had been similarly caught out. !!!!

The room was beautiful, very clean and the bed very comfortable. Great to be able to store my bike securely overnight, V friendly staff. Would certainly recommend.

As the B&B is on the main road there is traffic noise but you just have to keep the window closed. A fan in the room would have been great as the room is quite hot, especially with the windows shut.
