Giselle Buda Castle

Very comfortable beds.Great location, its in the middle of 1st district.There are a few nice restaurants, but everything is closing around 10-11, so its calm and silent, but no nightlife.The staff was nice and helpful.

The brealfast was below average and we had to ask for every little thing, like butter, cheese, bread...

I like the location and the overall style of the hotel. The room layout was not the usual one, but it very spacious and clean. The beds was very comfortable, and beautiful. There is no TV in the rooms, which can be a nogo for some, but I considered it as a plus. Bathroom was clean, spacious, and well equiped.

For the sake of energy saving, may be it would be good idea to install those switches which are only open when a card is installed. Another improvement point could be the venting was on most of the time, and it was noisy. Even after we left the bathroom for long time, it was still running until the morning.

+ Great location if you come for 1-2 days: right next to Fisherman's Bastion and The Castle, walking distance (15-20min) to the Parliament + Okay breakfast. Not the best you could get for that value, but enough to keep you full till lunch. + Pretty interior, interesting room design.

--- We got there by car and had very unpleasant experience with parking. In order to get to the hotel, you gotta get through the gate (you get regular parking ticket that needs to be paid before leaving). However, hotel offers 15€/night parking option which is definitely better price that regular hourly charge. We paid 15€ upon check-in and were instructed to simply insert the card we got from the machine first when leaving, and ticket we were given by hotel right after that so the charges are nulled out. Well, this did not work: after inserting the first ticket, machine requested the collected amount (17100HUF) to be paid and inserting the card given by hotel did not discard any charges, the machine kept blinking with a red cross. We were exiting during pretty busy time, there's only one gate and there were 4 other cars behind us already, including 3 cabs. Hotel later claimed this "was never an issue before and we should've called", however since there were 4 impatient drivers behind us, we paid the charge and ended up paying this hotel unnecessary extra 15€.
