I Tetti di Girgenti

The hosts were extremely kind, attentive, and always willing to help. They even helped us plan our route around Agrigento, which made our visit much easier and more enjoyable. The view from the terrace is truly beautiful, with the Valley of the Temples visible in the distance, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious.

Dina und Mario sind ein sehr sympathisches Paar, die ihre Unterkunft mit Herzblut führen. Die Unterkunft liegt perfekt im Herzen der Altstadt, ist gemütlich eingerichtet und das Morgenbuffet auf der Dachterasse mit Blick über die Dächer von Agrigento ist traumhaft.

The “Tetti” in the hotel’s name refers to the rooftop, which offers a spectacular view all the way across to the Valle dei Templi. You can enjoy this setting at breakfast; as my wife is celiac, the hosts kindly prepared delicious gluten-free options for her – which was very much appreciated. And the hosts also provide complementary glasses of wine or beer, on a self-serve basis, so you can pop up to the deck on the roof in the evenings too, for a relaxing way to end the day. The “Girgenti” refers to the historic centre of the town, where the hotel is located. This location is perfectly midway between the transport hubs – bus stops for runs up to the valley as well as train station for easy access to Palermo – and the medieval Old Town, including a stunning 11th-century cathedral. That central position is a winning feature, with restaurants & shops also nearby… But the best feature, and most pleasant surprise, about I Tetti di Girgenti is the amazing hosts, 'Delightful' Dina and ‘Super’ Mario! They go out of their way to make every aspect of your stay a success.

Siamo arrivati ad Agrigento in uno bel pomeriggio di maggio. Dopo esserci inerpicati per le stradine del centro storico, siamo arrivati alla nostra metà il B&B "I tetti di Girgenti". Oltre il portone si entra in un mondo buono ed amico che parla della tradizionale ospitalità siciliana. Con Dina e Mario, i gestori della struttura, è scattata quella alchimia che ti fa pensare: qui starò bene. E così è stato. Le camere pulite e silenziose, i corridoi come di casa tua, ma soprattutto la bellissima terrazza, ampia, soleggiata ma protetta dal sole forte. E qui capisci perchè la struttura si chiama così. Lo sguardo spazia sui tetti delle case antiche, poi, più lontano la valle coi templi, illuminati di notte, e là in fondo il mare con la nave che va a Lampedusa. Su questa terrazza, la mattina, Dina e Mario servono un'abbondante colazione sia salata che dolce e si intrecciano i racconti e le chiacchiere. Siamo stati ai "Tetti..." due giorni e due notti visitando la Valle e Agrigento stessa. Quando la sera tprnavamo era come a casa. Quando siamo partiti, per continuare il nostro vagabondare per questa terra meravigliosa, abbiamo ringraziato Dina e Mario per il loro "saperci fare" da ospiti esperti e per averci aiutato conoscere il carattere dei Siciliani, a noi che veniamo dal profondo nord. Se torneremo ad Agrigento sappiamo già dove andremo a stare, ai "Tetti di Girgenti".

Séjour inoubliable de 3 jours. Belle chambre, commodités impeccable, terrasse et déjeuners absolument fantastiques. Les hôtes sont accueillants et au petits soins. Plein de petites attentions appréciées.
