Dunscar Farm Bed & Breakfast

We enjoyed being in a farm. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was very good.

The toilet was hard to flush but that’s the nature of plumbing in an older farm home.

Easy location to town dont need to drive walk and hike to all locations

There was nothing I didn't like about our stay.

Perfect location for Castleton, Mam Tor and all the visitor attractions in the Peak District. A gorgeous farmhouse with a working farm and lovely owners. Good-sized bedroom and bathroom, very clean and comfortable. And a delicious breakfast!

Lovely quiet location, with stunning views, excellent breakfast and most of all the owner Gary is such a lovely man, nothing is too much for him, very friendly, full of local information, he even cooks the breakfasts, very laid back atmosphere about the place, the girl who serves breakfast is also lovely…been to many b&bs over the years and this place ranks top

Liked everything really well kept clean and tidy the best breakfast I have had in any B&B the beds are comfy and you get two comfy pillows will 100% stay again

Nothing i did not like brilliant place to stay

The farm is ideally located with just a short walk to village centre and walk the local peaks including Mam Tor. Bakewell is 30 drive away. The owners offered a warm welcome and made sure we knew they were on hand should we need anything. Other than that we were left to come and go as we pleased. The room was spacious and comfortable with a large private bathroom. The breakfast was all locally sourced high quality produce. The drying room was very convenient. Everyone we encountered were very friendly and helpful.

If I was ultra critical, I would have welcomed an en suite toilet. The room was advertised with a separate private bathroom which is exactly what we got so there is no complaint there. The bathroom was only across the hall so any small inconvenience was just visiting the loo through the night.

We had a fantastic two-night stay at Dunscar Farm. From the moment we arrived, Gary made us feel incredibly welcome. Although we didn’t get the chance to meet Janet, Gary truly made our stay feel warm and homely, sharing some great stories along the way. The location is absolutely beautiful—an isolated farmhouse surrounded by stunning views, with the added charm of waking up to lambs in the morning, which was a real highlight. The room was clean, comfortable, and perfect for a restful night’s sleep. Breakfast was exceptional—a full English made with local products, full of flavour and clearly prepared with care. The staff were also very friendly and attentive throughout. This is definitely a place to stay if you’re looking to truly relax and unwind in peaceful surroundings, while still being within easy reach of the centre. Highly recommended!👌

If we had to pick something (and we’re really nitpicking here!), the TV could have been a little bigger. That said, since we came to relax and enjoy the outdoors, we took it as a free eyesight test instead, so not really a complaint at all!😊
