The squeaky floor in the bedroom was a nuisance but it is a old building

Old and quirky. Fantastic shower and comfortable bed. Beautiful location.

Very warm & comfortable clean & great bar/food. Was a little noisy but to be expected. Staff excellent Jane very helpful. I was over for mountain navigation training in Lake District this was about 30mins away so fitted the brief well. A lovely lively little place to get a good rest & be well looked after

Breakfast was good! Cooked to order … better if plates were warm

If we’d known about country & western evening when booking we wouldn’t have because we wanted a quiet night away to celebrate our anniversary. Music was extremely loud in our room until midnight and noises/clearing up until 1am. We only found out when tried to book table for meal. Special events/evenings need to be advertised beforehand so we can decide.

A popular and busy inn, near Penrith but in a quiet village. Very good beer and food! Good wifi and easy parking. Room was well-appointed and everything worked. Friendly and accommodating staff.

It was noisy at night, but it's a pub and it was the weekend so you have to expect that. The only negative really was that I arranged to have a 'serve yourself' breakfast left out but something went wrong - there were cereals and milk but no bowls, and there was jam and a toaster, but no bread. I only had orange juice and coffee before my long drive south.
